Educational Objectives:

Upon completion of the educational activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Describe factors that drive bleeding risk in patients on DOACs.
  2. Determine when to use DOAC reversal agents.
  3. Assess the balance of bleeding and thrombotic risk in patients taking DOACs.
  4. Recognize the importance of restarting DOAC therapy after a bleed.
  5. Identify systems-based approaches to standardizing anticoagulation reversal management.

Intended Audience:

The intended audience for this program will consist of Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Nurses, and Pharmacists in the fields of Emergency Medicine, Critical Care, and Neurocritical Care.
