Hospitalized patients with acute medical illnesses are at significant risk for venous thromboembolism (VTE) during and after a hospital stay. Strategies for optimal pharmacologic VTE thromboprophylaxis are evolving but necessary to protect high-risk patients after hospital discharge.
VLN is proud to launch the Anticoagulation Action Initiative to help drive the appropriate use of VTE prophylaxis in medically ill patients. Developed by a panel of global experts, this consensus document explores the most recent data on extended-duration prophylaxis and serves as a practical, contemporary guide for frontline providers and stakeholders, including hospitalists, internal medicine practitioners, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, subspecialty clinicians, and hematology, pulmonary medicine, and cardiovascular medicine staff.
