The United States CTEPH Proceedings 2021

The United States CTEPH Proceedings 2021 will provide a multidisciplinary framework for the evaluation and management of patients with chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH). Covered topics will include:

  • The epidemiology of chronic thromboembolic disease in the US
  • Contemporary approaches to diagnosing CTEPH
  • The latest in surgical advancements
  • The role of pulmonary hypertension (PH) targeted medical therapy and balloon pulmonary angioplasty (BPA) in the management of inoperable CTEPH

The conference format will comprise didactic presentations, debates, and panel discussions involving national and international experts in the field. There will be scheduled opportunities throughout the symposium for interactive audience participation. Attendees will also be encouraged to submit and present scientific abstracts and unique clinical cases related to CTEPH and other large-vessel pulmonary vascular diseases.

Target Audience:

This program has been designed to provide internists, pulmonologists, cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeons, interventional cardiologists and radiologists, anesthesiologists, thoracic radiologists, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals with state-of-the-art information to evaluate and manage patients with CTEPH.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Discuss an updated understanding of the epidemiology and pathophysiology of CTEPH
  2. Describe the latest diagnostic and evaluative approaches to patients with suspected chronic thromboembolic disease and apply that information to a patient case
  3. Discuss advances in pulmonary thromboendarterectomy for patients with chronic thromboembolic disease and CTEPH and apply that information to a patient case
  4. Explain the role of balloon pulmonary angioplasty in the management of inoperable CTEPH and apply that information to a patient case
  5. Define the role of medical therapy in selected patient groups with CTEPH and apply that information to a patient case

Pharmacists:

ScientiaCME is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. This program is approved for 10 hours (1.0 CEUs) of continuing education. Proof of participation will be posted to your NABP CPE profile within 4 to 6 weeks to participants who have successfully completed the post-test. 

Participants have 1 calendar month after the activity to provide learner information and complete the post-activity assessment and evaluation. ACPE #0574-9999-21-009-L01-P. This activity is an Assessment (A)-type activity.

Successful completion of the post-activity assessment and completion of the ACTIVITY evaluation is required to obtain a certificate of completion.
