Ask The Expert: Julie Anderson, MD and the role of a PCP

Julie Anderson, MD, FAAFP is a primary care physician (PCP) specializing in Family Medicine. She discusses the role of PCPs in managing chronic conditions such as blood clots, atrial fibrillation, and cardiovascular disease.

Julie Anderson is a Family Physician from Saint Cloud, MN. She is the owner of Simplicity Health, a multispecialty clinic serving patients of all ages in the Saint Cloud region.

Dr. Anderson is originally from Berthoud, Colorado and graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a degree in Environmental Chemistry. She then attended the University of Minnesota Medical School and was drawn toward family medicine at the University of Minnesota Rural Residency Program in Waseca-Mankato, MN. 

Since completing her training, Julie has been active in the American Academy of Family Physicians, holding many appointments and recently serving as the MN Chapter President. Nationally, she has served as an MN Delegate to the AAFP and as a member of the Commission on Governmental Advocacy. She is currently finishing her time as President of the American Academy of Family Physicians Foundation. 

Julie was recognized by the city of Saint Cloud in 2013 with the 5 Under 40 Award, given to community leaders under the age of 40. She was honored this year as Minnesota Family Physician of the Year.
